Get out more, says vicar general
Catholic intellectuals must get out and about and not spend all their time in the office, the Vicar General of the diocese of Surabaya, Father Agustinus Tri Budi Utomo, said last weekend.
Catholic organizations including the Association of Catholic Graduates and Intellectuals of Indonesia (ISKA) “should not sit at their desks all the time, because people are missing something,” he told about 300 people attending a July 31 installation ceremony of new board members of the association’s branch held in the hall of Catholic University of Widya Mandala in Surabaya.
“ISKA is a mass organization similar to the interest groups within the Church scope. It must be sensitive and take responsibility over the reality of life,” he said.
